Yvonne Waterman

Dr. Yvonne Waterman, LL.M. MFAAM, organized Amsterdam’s fifth international asbestos forum in 2022. She established the European Asbestos Forum to address the lack of a global network of professionals united against asbestos. 

Waterman is widely recognized for her asbestos knowledge. She has presented at conferences and raised awareness of asbestos dangers for years. Her work has influenced doctors, lawyers and researchers. 

Her legal experience includes personal injury law, product liability and employer liability law. Waterman is helping researchers and activists advance asbestos eradication, raising awareness and connecting industry professionals at the EAF. 

Since its beginning, the EAF has hosted several renowned international professionals at the conference. They present innovative topics, from research to awareness, sharing the expertise of specialists.

The EAF professional network exchanges the best and latest asbestos knowledge across numerous disciplines. The information is available to everyone. Together, these experts share the newest scientific and social insights. The knowledge shared is a chance to spare future generations from the effects of asbestos.  

In addition to teaching liability law classes to lawyers, Waterman runs the Waterman Legal Consultancy. Her law firm specializes in employer liability law, which was the focus of Waterman’s Ph.D. She also frequently publishes her work in legal journals and handbooks.
