About Dr. Alvarado

Dr. Chelsea Alvarado earned her doctorate from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. She received a Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Temple University in Philadelphia. She currently works as a freelance medical writer and is passionate about making medical science accessible to all.

After graduating from medical school, Alvarado practiced as a resident in family medicine for two years in the Bronx in New York City before becoming a medical writer. She is passionate about sharing medical information in a way that empowers people to make informed health decisions.

Alvarado’s hobbies include painting and sculpting and yoga. She also enjoys walking in her neighborhood in the Bronx with her husband.
