The Medical Outreach team of The Mesothelioma Center at Asbestos.com builds relationships with a network of premiere mesothelioma specialists and treatment facilities.Medical Outreach Director Missy Miller and Medical Outreach Liaison Jose Ortiz travel across the United States to personally connect with professionals at top mesothelioma centers.
Partnering with our Medical Outreach program drives more patients to mesothelioma centers and increases the exposure of mesothelioma experts. We have established a professional, credible network and source of trust with many health care providers, which has allowed us to assist countless patients diagnosed with this illness.
Our goal is to provide patients and their loved ones with free access to information, services and support through effective advocacy, which can help you overcome the disease and live a longer, healthier life.

Meet Our Medical Outreach Team
Missy Miller has connected mesothelioma patients with top doctors since 2010. Through the partnerships she has built across the U.S., Miller makes sure every patient is seeing the right professionals to improve their prognosis. She guides families on where to turn for medical, financial and emotional support.
Jose Ortiz travels throughout the country to meet world-class physicians who help patients affected by mesothelioma. Since 2013, Ortiz has built partnerships with the nation’s best mesothelioma specialists. He hosts webinars with industry professionals, attends symposiums and is a VA-accredited claims agent.

How Medical Outreach Helps Patients
Our Medical Outreach team can help you apply for grants, Social Security Disability Insurance and VA benefits. They also answer your health insurance questions and can assist you with insurance issues and appeals.
We help patients modify insurance plans for better coverage and can assist you in finding supplemental insurance to cover the 20% of out-of-pocket expenses Medicare does not cover.
Our team sends a customized information packet to patients. It contains a medical record organizer, mesothelioma books, a checklist of all the resources available to them and more.
These resources help you understand your options for treatment and how to pay for it. Cancer treatment is expensive, and there are ways people diagnosed with mesothelioma can access compensation. Lawsuits, asbestos trust funds and VA benefits help families afford oncology care.
