Marine Panels - Mesothelioma and Asbestos Exposure Risks

The destruction of asbestos has reached to the far corners of many parts of everyday life. However, no industry was harder hit than that of the marine industry. However, mesothelioma has few symptoms that can be noticed until the tumors grow large enough to disrupt organ systems, and by that time, the mesothelioma cells will have traveled to many parts of the body, causing cancerous tumors everywhere. Unfortunately, by the time it gets to this state, the mesothelioma is largely untreatable. Most people who develop mesothelioma after asbestos exposure die soon after they discover the problem. Sadly, in many cases, the asbestos exposure happened decades before, so they never even knew that there was a problem.

People in marine industries are especially at risk for developing mesothelioma due to the fact that they were exposed to asbestos within closed areas. While the asbestos may have may the ship a bit safer in regards to fire, the air was filled with asbestos, making it a dangerous place to breathe. Today, marine panels containing asbestos are still causing new cases of mesothelioma. As ships wear out, restorations teams are tackling the repairs.
