Fire Doors - Mesothelioma and Asbestos Exposure Risks

Many fire retardant products used to be made with asbestos, including fire doors. For years, fire doors were made with asbestos because it is durable and cost efficient. The asbestos fibers are very strong and make for a great fire retardant material, which made the product a great use for fire doors. However, we know now that asbestos is a harmful material that can cause severe health problems.

However, asbestos was a very common building material and was used in many products that were used to construct homes and buildings, including fire doors, so it can be difficult to pinpoint the exact product or company that caused the asbestos exposure for some.
